Rheo-optical Behavior of Polyacrylonitrile: Creep and Creep Recovery
Journal of Applied Physics, 1968The rheo-optical behavior of PAN homopolymer film has been investigated by means of creep and creep recovery experiments with simultaneous measurements of birefringence changes. Creep experiments were carried out at temperatures of 70°, 100°, 120°, 140°, and 160°C, at a series of stress levels.

Abstract Several creep tests (lasting more than one year) were performed to study the delayed mechanical behavior of Boom clay under the hydro-mechanical coupling effect. To prevent the soil from swelling as much as possible during re-saturation, the samples were submitted to a confining pressure close to the in situ effective mean stress (2.5 MPa ...

Creep Fatigue Behavior of Creep Strength Enhanced Ferritic Steels
Journal of ASTM International, 2011Abstract Creep Fatigue knowledge is necessary for meaningful reliability assessment of existing power generating plant because cyclic operation of an aging power plant fleet requires better understanding of factors affecting damage initiation and propagation, as well as technologies and methods to predict damage accumulation for ...

Creep behavior of electrorheological fluids
Journal of Rheology, 1994Composite particles consisting of a polymer core and an inorganic shell were formed by suspension polymerization. For suspensions in a silicone oil, the steady-shear viscosity and creep behavior were measured in electric fields up to 2.0 kV mm−1. Although the polymer core is not ER active, the suspensions of composite particles show a striking increase

Compressive creep behavior of Nb5Si3
Scripta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995Abstract The compressive creep data for Nb5Si3 can be described by the following relation: e = 2.773 × 10 −22 kT exp ( −28125 T σ 0.8±0.1 in the temperature range of 1200 to 1400 °C and stress regime of 52 to ~174 MPa. Based on a stress exponent of ~1, and activation energy of 234 kj mol , it is suggested that creep ...

Transient behavior of diffusion-induced creep and creep rupture
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1975Steady state solutions to three types of diffusion problems: creep, grain boundary sliding and intergranular crack growth, have been published in the literature. This paper considers, in detail, the events which occur between the time when the external stress is applied and the time when the steady state is eventually reached.

Creep behavior of submarine sediments
Geo-Marine Letters, 1984A series of experiments on drained creep of marine sediment indicates that strength degradation results from the creep process, which implies an associated reduction in slope stability. Furthermore, the highest creep potential of a sediment may be at its preconsolidation stress.

Compressive creep behavior of bovine trabecular bone
Journal of Biomechanics, 1994There are almost no published data that describe the creep behavior of trabecular bone (at the specimen level), even though the creep behavior of cortical bone has been well documented. In an effort to characterize the creep behavior of trabecular bone and to compare it with that of cortical bone, we performed uniaxial compressive creep tests on 24 ...

Creep behavior of biaxial cold‐rolled polypropylene
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1995AbstractPolypropylene was biaxially rolled up to 60% at ambient temperature, and the tensile creep behavior over the temperature range 27 to 60°C was investigated using a dead‐load apparatus. The degrees of crystallinity of the as‐molded and rolled PP were determined using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and density bottle.

Creep behaviors evaluation of Incoloy800H by small punch creep test
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2017Abstract In this paper, creep properties estimation of Incoloy800H under various loads and temperatures were performed experimentally and analytically. Compared to standard creep test, a similar creep character could be obtained by small punch creep test. On the basis of geometrical shape of deformed specimen, we proposed a modified geometrical model.
