Oxidation of p-cresol by ozonation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Oxidation of p-Cresol was investigated by using ozonation process. The aim of this research is to assess the effectiveness of ozonation on oxidation of micropollutant such as p-Cresol.

Marked increases of aminotransferase levels after cresol ingestion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A 26-year-old woman developed marked increases in levels of aminotransferases about 24 hours after ingestion of 70 mL of 50% cresol. Responding to supportive measures, the patient recovered without any significant complications.

Effect of Late Second to Early Third Trimester of Pregnancy on the Activity of Renal Organic Anion Transporters (OAT1 and OAT3): A Biomarker Study

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 2, Page 465-474, August 2026.
Pregnant individuals take drugs throughout pregnancy and many of these drugs (e.g., antivirals, antibiotics) are eliminated by renal organic anion transporters (OAT) 1 and OAT3. In vivo studies with OAT1/3 substrate drugs suggest that pregnancy increases renal OAT1/3 activities by 1.5‐ to 1.8‐fold.

Interaction Among Microbiota, Chemical Composition, and Quality Variations in Coffea arabica Across Altitudinal Gradients During Wet Processing

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Fermentation significantly altered the dominant bacterial genera from Sphingomonas and Pleomorphomonas (before fermentation) to Weissella and Lactobacillus (after fermentation), while Cladosporium and Fusarium remained the dominant fungal genera. Notably, non‐volatile compounds in de‐pulping coffee beans and volatile compounds of roasted coffee beans ...

Key microbial populations involved in anaerobic degradation of phenol and p-cresol using different inocula

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Biotechnology, 2018
Background: Anaerobic digestion is an alternative bioprocess used to treat effluents containing toxic compounds such as phenol and p-cresol. Selection of an adequate sludge as inoculum containing an adapted microbial consortium is a relevant factor to ...

The characterization of a new stabilized lactonase from the endophytic fungi Aspergillus pseudonomiae with anti‐bacterial and anti‐fungal properties

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Microorganisms use diverse small‐molecule signals to coordinate behavior, supporting interspecies and interkingdom communication. These chemical dialogs shape fundamental biological processes and define interactions from cooperation to antagonism.

Diversity of flies visiting and pollinating flowers of the Southern African genus Riocreuxia (Apocynaceae: Ceropegieae, Anisotominae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract The subtribe Stapeliinae (Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) contains ca. 720 species and, with fly pollination being ubiquitous in the group, appears to have diversified without shifts between major groups of pollinators. In contrast, the sister subtribe Anisotominae, which only has ca.
