Identification of Exhaled Volatile Organic Compounds Biomarkers for Lung Cancer Under Data‐Limited Conditions Using Data Augmentation and Multi‐View Feature Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 3, June 2026.
This work introduces a novel framework for identifying non‐small cell lung cancer biomarkers from hundreds of volatile organic compounds in breath, analyzed via gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry. This method integrates generative data augmentation and multi‐view feature selection, providing a stable and accurate solution for biomarker discovery in ...

Gas‐Phase Hydrodeoxygenation of m‐Cresol Using Isopropanol as Hydrogen Donor Over a Ni‐Supported Catalyst

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Continuous‐flow hydrodeoxygenation of m‐cresol assisted by catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH‐HDO) was carried out at 300°C and atmospheric pressure over a Ni/SBA‐15 catalyst, using isopropanol as a renewable hydrogen donor. Under optimized conditions, a toluene selectivity of 56% was achieved, highlighting the potential of this approach as a safer ...

Genetic ancestry–concordant ceramide metabolism and response to androgen receptor pathway inhibition in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 11, 1 June 2026.
Abstract Background The authors observed differences in response between Black and White patients with metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who were treated prospectively with androgen receptor pathway inhibition (ARPI) in the Abi Race and PANTHER studies.

MiR‐30a‐5p mediates epileptogenesis in epilepsy models by targeting SOX4 to regulate the Wnt/β‐catenin pathway

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, Volume 11, Issue 3, Page 983-1002, June 2026.
Abstract Objective The pathogenesis of epilepsy is closely associated with neuronal synaptic plasticity. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can regulate various biological processes by binding to specific sequences on target genes. This study employs bioinformatics, molecular dynamics, and experimental approaches to investigate the mechanism by which MiR‐30a‐5p treats

Sensory Properties and Aroma Compound Profiles of Pea Protein Isolates in Relation to High Hydrostatic Pressure and High‐Pressure Homogenization Treatments

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Flavor profiles of untreated pea protein isolate (light green, solid line) compared to High Pressure Homogenization (HPH) treated (dark blue, dash‐dot line) and High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP) treated pea protein isolates (dark green, dashed line). Samples were described as mainly pea‐like/bean‐like, flour‐like/cereal‐like, bitter, fatty, and sour ...

Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerization of Cyclic Olefins by PMe3–Supported (Arylimido)Niobium–Alkylidene Catalysts

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 227, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
(Arylimido)niobium(V)–alkylidene catalysts containing pentafluorophenylimido ligand, Nb(CHR)(NC6F5)(OC6X5)(PMe3)2 (R = CMe2Ph, X = F; R = SiMe3, X = Cl), show rather low catalytic activity than the 2,6‐dihalophenylimido catalysts, Nb(CHSiMe3)(N‐2,6‐X2C6H3)(OC6X5)(PMe3)2 in ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of norbornene.

Encephalopathy: Cause, Pathogenesis, and Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Various encephalopathies (sepsis‐associated, hepatic, hypoxic–ischemic, diabetic, uremic, toxic) have incompletely elucidated pathogenesis, which severely restricts targeted therapy development. Small molecule drugs show unique multitarget potential but face toxicity, poor blood–brain barrier penetration and unclear specificity.

Fermentation and Enzymatic Pre‐Treatments to Modulate Sensory Properties of Extruded Plant‐Based Meat Alternatives

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2026.
Fermentation, enzymatic hydrolysis, and enzymatic crosslinking are emerging pre‐treatments to improve the sensory properties of extruded plant‐based meat alternatives. This review critically examines current literature to identify underlying mechanisms, benefits, and key research gaps associated with these pre‐treatments.
