The influence of the copy number of invader on the fate of bacterial host cells in the antiviral defense by CRISPR-Cas10 DNases

open access: yesEngineering Microbiology, 2023
Type III CRISPR-Cas10 systems employ multiple immune activities to defend their hosts against invasion from mobile genetic elements (MGEs), including DNase and cyclic oligoadenylates (cOA) synthesis both of which are hosted by the type-specific protein ...

Exploring DNA Functionalization Techniques for Silver Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study evaluates four functionalization methods—salt‐aging, pH‐assisted, freezing‐directed, and microwave‐assisted—for attaching DNA strands to 20 nm silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The resulting DNA‐AgNP conjugates are characterized and colloidal stability and DNA loading are assessed.

ESCRT III Regulates Lysosomal Perinuclear Clustering by Inhibiting Kinesin 1 Leading to Agnps Cytotoxicity in Human Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
AgNPs cause significant damage upon entering the lysosomes of human fibroblasts, resulting in lysosomal transport disorders and the occurrence of perinuclear clustering (LPC) of lysosomes by promoting apoptosis that is accompanied by a reduction in the expression levels of ESCRT III and Kinesin 1 proteins.

Tandem peptide lipid CRISPR-Cas9 complex combating APP and APOE4 gene abnormality in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesQanun Medika: Jurnal Kedokteran Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya
Alzheimer's attacks 24 million global population and dominates 60-80% of existing cases of dementia. It causes the accumulation of beta-amyloid (Aβ) plaques in the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex, resulting in decreased mass from the brain.
