Quantum defects at the critical charge
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2013The quantum defect is an empirically introduced notion that has allowed convenient interpolations of spectral data along atomic isoelectronic sequences and their extrapolation with respect to the principal quantum number. Both yield valuable spectral information, the latter providing estimates of low-energy-electron elastic scattering phase shifts as ...

Quantum Critical Phenomena in Charged Superconductors
Physical Review Letters, 1988We study the effect of Coulomb interactions on the onset of superconductivity with increasing intergrain coupling in granular systems at $T=0$. We show that in three dimensions (3D) the onset transition is described by Euclidean scalar electrodynamics, and so can be either first or second order, depending on parameters. A renormalization-group analysis

Low charge detection and diagnoses for non-critically charged refrigeration system
2017 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT), 2017In this paper, a new set of algorithms has been developed to detect low charge fault for single compressor non-critically charged refrigeration system for both frozen and perishable goods. A mix of field units' data and experimental data were used to build the detection algorithms. Multiple detection algorithms were devised based on the operation modes.

Critical Nuclear Charge for Two-Electron Atoms
Physical Review Letters, 2014The critical nuclear charge Z(c) required to bind a nucleus plus two electrons in a heliumlike atom has recently been an area of active study, resulting in a disagreement with earlier calculations and with the value obtained from the radius of convergence 1/Z* of a 1/Z expansion of the energy.

Critical assessment of charge mobility extraction in FETs
Nature Materials, 2017Mobility is an important charge-transport parameter in organic, inorganic and hybrid semiconductors. We outline some of the common pitfalls of mobility extraction from field-effect transistor (FET) measurements and propose practical recommendations to avoid reporting erroneous mobilities in publications.

Critical charge in quantum electrodynamics
Physics of Atomic Nuclei, 2001The critical nuclear charge Z cr and the critical distance R cr in the system of two colliding heavy nuclei—they are defined as those at which the ground-state level of the electron spectrum descends to the boundary of the lower continuum, with the result that beyond them (that is, for Z>Z

Factors That Impact the Critical Charge of Memory Elements
12th IEEE International On-Line Testing Symposium (IOLTS'06), 2006In the current paper we investigate the factors that affect the critical charge (Q/sub crit/) for a soft error in a memory cell. Also the spread of Q/sub crit/ due to variations in the transistor model parameters is studied. The role of the current waveform that is applied in the simulation, the current pulse width, and the inclusion of back-end ...

Critical charge calculations for a bipolar SRAM array
IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1996The critical charge, Q{sub crit}, of a memory array storage cell is defined as the largest charge that can be injected without changing the cell`s logic state. The Q{sub crit} of a Schottky-coupled complementary bipolar SRAM array is evaluated in detail.

“Critical” Turn-on Charge of a Thyristor
1971A theoretical discussion is given of the conditions for turning on a thyristor by the accumulation of charge in its bases caused by short-duration external excitation or triggering pulses. The concept of a critical charge for this process is defined and justified and the concept of an effective charge accumulated in the thyristor bases is introduced ...

Critical charge in a superstrong magnetic field
Uspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2014The phenomenon of a critical charge in a superstrong magnetic field is discussed taking into account the screening of the Coulomb potential and the finite size of the nucleus.
