EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Influence of Constant Current Accelerated Corrosion on the Bond Properties of Reinforced Concrete

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Reinforcement corrosion is one of the most serious durability problems faced by reinforced concrete (RC) structures. In the laboratory, current accelerated corrosion method is widely used to corrode RC structures. In order to reduce the experimental time,

Critical state solution and AC loss computation of polygonally arranged thin superconducting tapes

open access: yes, 2013
The current density and field distributions in polygonally arranged thin superconducting tapes carrying AC current are derived under the assumption of the critical state model.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Case Studies on Time-Dependent Ginzburg-Landau Simulations for Superconducting Applications

open access: yesElectromagnetic Science
The macroscopic electromagnetic properties of type-II superconductors are mainly influenced by the behavior of microscopic superconducting flux quantum units.

Current-induced domain wall motion in a nanowire with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

open access: yes, 2008
We study theoretically the current-induced magnetic domain wall motion in a metallic nanowire with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The anisotropy can reduce the critical current density of the domain wall motion. We explain the reduction mechanism and

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Reemergence of superconductivity by 4d transition-metal Pd doping in over-doped 112-type iron pnictide superconductors Ca0.755La0.245FeAs2

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
In 112-type iron-based superconductors (IBSs), rare earth (e.g. La) doping enhanced antiferromagnetic (AFM) order and 3 d transition-metal (e.g. Co, Ni) doping induced reemergence of superconductivity (SC) in the over-doped regime (non-SC) are of ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
