Architecture, Dynamics, and Function of the General Stress Response System in B. subtilis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cells exhibit diverse and dynamic responses to stress. However, in many cases it remains unclear what the dynamics are, how they are generated, and why they are beneficial to the cell or organism. To investigate these issues we studied the General Stress

Quantitative Calculation of Critical Depth in Typical Rockburst Mine

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
In order to calculate the critical depth of a typical rockburst coal mine quantitatively, which is helpful in rockburst prevention and control, in this paper, the concept of typical rockburst coal mine and atypical rockburst coal mine is put forward ...

Evaluation of quasistatic and dynamic strength of components with stress concentrators based on the theory of critical distances [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
This work is devoted to the development a technique for assessment of the quasi-static and dynamic strength in metals with stress concentrators on the basis of the Theory of Critical Distances. The main feature of the technique is its ability to estimate of the lifetime of metals that have both direct and inverse strain rate sensitivity in a wide range

Maximum dynamic stress on bridges traversed by moving loads

open access: yes, 2009
Most current research on dynamic effects due to traffic load on simply supported bridges focuses on the mid-span section of the bridge, since this location corresponds to the worst static bending moment.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Study on the Dynamic Response Characteristics of Cylindrical Coal-Rock Samples under Dynamic Loads

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
To research the dynamic response characteristics of cylindrical coal-rock samples under impact loads, the impact of rigid bars on cylindrical coal-rock samples is simulated under different speed conditions, based on LS-DYNA software, and the dynamic ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Deformation behavior of K0-consolidated soft clay under traffic load-induced stress paths

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2017
Under traffic loads, the magnitudes and directions of the principal stresses applied in the soil elements of soft subgrade change simultaneously. Namely, as the shear stress changes in amplitudes, the principal stress axes continuously rotate.

Test study on the influences of dynamic stress and load history to the dynamic properties of the remolded red clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The dynamic properties of subgrade materials are critical factors affecting stability within the traffic engineering discipline. Remolded red clays are frequently used as subgrade filling materials, however, to date, a paucity of data exist on to the ...
