The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Ergastava transkraniaalse magnetstimulatsiooni mõju petukäitumisele [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The present study investigated the effects of excitation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on deceptive behaviour.

Thermodynamical features of multifragmentation in peripheral Au + Au Collisions at 35 A.MeV

open access: yes, 1999
The distribution of fragments produced in events involving the multifragmentation of excited sources is studied for peripheral Au + Au reactions at 35 A.MeV. The Quasi-Projectile has been reconstructed from its de-excitation products.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Review: Critical Excitation Problems for Elastic–Plastic Structures Under Simple Impulse Sequences

open access: yesJapan Architectural Review
This review paper treats critical excitation methods and discusses the possibility of a paradigm shift in nonlinear structural dynamics for building structures with hysteresis using input model transformation without structural model transformation. Long‐

Estimating a Seismic Wave Velocity for Exciting the Greatest Anticipated Vertical Deck Displacement of a Cable-Stayed Bridge Subjected to Asynchronous Excitation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Concrete Structures and Materials, 2021
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the seismic wave velocity on vertical displacement of a cable-stayed bridge’s deck under asynchronous excitation.

Three dimensional resonating valence bond liquids and their excitations

open access: yes, 2003
We show that there are two types of RVB liquid phases present in three-dimensional quantum dimer models, corresponding to the deconfining phases of U(1) and Z_2 gauge theories in d=3+1.

Nucleation of reaction-diffusion waves on curved surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study reaction-diffusion waves on curved two-dimensional surfaces, and determine the influence of curvature upon the nucleation and propagation of spatially localized waves in an excitable medium modelled by the generic FitzHugh-Nagumo model.
