Critical phenomena and renormalization-group flow of multi-parameter \Phi^4 field theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the framework of the renormalization-group (RG) approach, critical phenomena can be investigated by studying the RG flow of multi-parameter $\Phi^4$ field theories with an $N$-component fundamental field, containing up to 4th-order polynomials of the ...

Real-space renormalization group for the transverse-field Ising model in two and three dimensions

open access: yes, 2011
The two- and three-dimensional transverse-field Ising models with ferromagnetic exchange interactions are analyzed by means of the real-space renormalization group method.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Existence of two nontrivial solutions for semilinear elliptic problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
This paper concerns the existence of multiple nontrivial solutions for some nonlinear problems. The first nontrivial solution is found using a minimax method, and the second by computing the Leray-Schauder index and the critical group near 0.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO POPULATION EXPOSURE LIMITATION AT RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT (AT THE EXAMPLE OF EXTERNAL EXPOSURE ON TERRITORIES CONTAMINATED AFTER THE CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT)

open access: yesРадиационная гигиена, 2017
The article is dedicated to comparison of different approaches to population exposure limitation at the example of external exposure of population living on territories contaminated after the accident at Chernobyl NPP.

The SQUEEZE pilot trial: a trial to determine whether septic shock reversal is quicker in pediatric patients randomized to an early goal directed fluid-sparing strategy vs. usual care

open access: yesPilot and Feasibility Studies
Objective The overall objective of our research is to determine in children with septic shock whether the use of a fluid-sparing strategy results in improved clinical outcomes without an increased risk of adverse events compared to usual care.

Critical Thinking in Groups

open access: yesJournal of Leadership Education, 2009
It gladdened my heart when the faculty of organizational leadership at my university agreed to require a course in critical thinking. The evidence had been mounting that one way we could prepare students to participate in leadership without knowing precisely what they would be asked to do in the workplace was to develop their powers of critical ...

Two-loop renormalization-group analysis of critical behavior at m-axial Lifshitz points

open access: yes, 2001
We investigate the critical behavior that d-dimensional systems with short-range forces and a n-component order parameter exhibit at Lifshitz points whose wave-vector instability occurs in a m-dimensional isotropic subspace of ${\mathbb R}^d$.
