Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

THE STUDY OF MICELLE SURFACTANT AND SODIUM DICLOFENAC RELEASE RATE OF DISPERSE SYSTEMS

open access: yesСовременная наука и инновации, 2022
Studied the release of diclofenac sodium from the disperse systems containing surfactants (surface-active substance). The connection speed of diclofenac sodium release from the surfactant concentration in the disperse systems.

Pretransitional behavior in a water-DDAB-5CB microemulsion close to the demixing transition. Evidence for intermicellar attraction mediated by paranematic fluctuations

open access: yes, 2005
We present a study of a water-in-oil microemulsion in which surfactant coated water nanodroplets are dispersed in the isotropic phase of the thermotropic liquid crystal 5CB. As the temperature is lowered below the isotropic to nematic phase transition of

Synthesis and properties of lipoamino acid/fatty acid mixtures. Influence of the amphiphilic structure. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The acylation of amino acids by acid chlorides with from 8 to 12 carbon atoms, in alkaline aqueous medium following Shotten-Baumann reaction, results in sodium salts of Nα-acylamino acids and fatty acids mixture. These lastest are present in proportion

Nanofillers Reinforcing Biopolymer Composites for Sustainable Food Packaging Applications: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biopolymers are sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to petroleum‐based plastics for food packaging. Its adoption is often limited by poor mechanical strength, barrier properties, and improved thermal stability through the incorporation of nanofillers.

Synthesis of Oligomeric Silicone Surfactant and its Interfacial Properties

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
During the exploitation of low permeability gas-condensate reservoirs, the mud filtrate, acidizing liquid, and fracturing fluid invade the reservoir and condensate gas, severely reducing the permeability of the reservoirs due to increased capillary ...

Treatment of surfactants with concentrations below critical micelle concentration by ultrafiltration: A mini-review

open access: yesWater Cycle, 2022
Surfactants are widely distributed in wastewater at concentrations below the critical micelle concentration (CMC). Generally, surfactant monomers are smaller than the pore sizes of ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, meaning that they can not be effectively ...

Substrate Engineering for Durable Omniphobic Liquid‐Like Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The significant yet less investigated role of substrates in determining the liquid‐repellency and mechanical durability of liquid‐like surfaces (LLSs) is explored. Thick and crack‐free sol–gel silica intermediary layers are developed that can smoothen substrate asperity roughness even at the micron scale, enabling omniphobic polydimethylsiloxane‐based ...

Micellization of Sliding Polymer Surfactants

open access: yes, 2005
Following up a recent paper on grafted sliding polymer layers (Macromolecules 2005, 38, 1434-1441), we investigated the influence of the sliding degree of freedom on the self-assembly of sliding polymeric surfactants that can be obtained by complexation ...

Biomaterial Strategies for Targeted Intracellular Delivery to Phagocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phagocytes are essential to a functional immune system, and their behavior defines disease outcomes. Engineered particles offer a strategic opportunity to target phagocytes, harnessing inflammatory modulation in disease. By tuning features like size, shape, and surface, these systems can modulate immune responses and improve targeted treatment for a ...
