Vapor pressure to Boltzmann distribution law connection and its empirical corrections

open access: yesChemical Thermodynamics and Thermal Analysis
Vapor pressure (P) data of pure substances in gas/solid-liquid equilibrium is important for scientific research and practical applications. Due to the large temperature range going from melting point to critical point, it is an impossible task to ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Multiple solutions of nonlinear fractional elliptic equations via Morse theory

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
This article concerns the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions of the nonlinear fractional elliptic problem. We extend some well known results of semilinear Laplacian equations to the nonlocal fractional setting. Using the variational methods

Single Blow up Solutions for a Slightly Subcritical Biharmonic Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, we consider a biharmonic equation under the Navier boundary condition and with a nearly critical exponent $(P_\epsilon): \Delta^2u=u^{9-\epsilon}, u>0$ in $\Omega$ and $u=\Delta u=0$ on $\partial\Omega$, where $\Omega$ is a smooth bounded ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

STABLE MINIMAL HYPERSURFACES IN A CRITICAL POINT EQUATION

open access: yesCommunications of the Korean Mathematical Society, 2005
On a compact n-dimensional manifold , a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, satifies the critical point equation (CPE), given by . It has been conjectured that a solution (g, f) of CPE is Einstein.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Existence and Related Properties of Solutions for Klein–Gordon–Maxwell Systems

open access: yesMathematics
This paper aims to present the application of variational methods in studying the existence and related properties of solutions for Klein–Gordon–Maxwell systems through a literature review. First, we give an introduction and variational framework for the

Single--peaks for a magnetic Schr\"{o}dinger equation with critic al growth

open access: yes, 2006
We prove existence results of complex-valued solutions for a semilinear Schr\"odinger equation with critical growth under the perturbation of an external electromagnetic field.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
