Existence of multiple breathers for discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
In this article we study discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equations without periodicity assumptions. We show the existence of multiple solutions of the form $u_n e^{-i\omega t}$ (called breathers) by using Clark's Theorem in critical point theory.

Location of the QCD critical point predicted by holographic Bayesian analysis [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We present results for a Bayesian analysis of the location of the QCD critical point constrained by first-principles lattice QCD results at zero baryon density.

Critical point approaches to nonlinear square root Laplacian equations

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
This work is devoted to the study of multiplicity results of solutions for a class of nonlinear equations involving the square root of the Laplacian. Indeed, we will use variational methods for smooth functionals, defined on reflexive Banach spaces, in order to achieve the existence of at least three solutions for the equations. Moreover, assuming that

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Critical behaviour and Scaling functions for the three-dimensional O(6) spin model with external field

open access: yes, 2003
We numerically investigate the three-dimensional O(6) model on 12^3 to 120^3 lattices. From Binder's cumulant at vanishing magnetic field we obtain the critical coupling J_c=1.42865(5) and verify this value with the \chi^2-method.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Extended Noble–Abel Stiffened-Gas Equation of State for Sub-and-Supercritical Liquid-Gas Systems Far from the Critical Point

open access: yesFluids, 2018
The Noble–Abel Stiffened-Gas (NASG) equation of state (Le Métayer, O. and Saurel, R. proposed in 2016) is extended to variable attractive and repulsive effects to improve the liquid phase accuracy when large temperature and pressure variation ranges are ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Critical second-order elliptic equation with zero Dirichlet boundary condition in four dimensions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2018
We are concerned with the nonlinear critical problem $-\Delta u=K(x)u^{3}$, $u>0$ in $\Omega$, $u=0$ on $\partial\Omega$, where $\Omega$ is a bounded domain of $\mathbb{R}^4$.
