SURFACE ENERGY BALANCE SYSTEM (SEBS) AND SATELLITE DATA FOR MONITORING WATER CONSUMPTION OF IRRIGATED SUGARCANE [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2016
The objective of this research was to evaluate the water consumption of irrigated sugarcane areas using the Surface Energy Balance System (SEBS) driven by products derived from Meteosat Second Generation (MSG), SPOT/VEGETATION, Terra/MODIS satellite data

Soil biochemistry and microbial activity in vineyards under conventional and organic management at Northeast Brazil. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The São Francisco Submedium Valley is located at the Brazilian semiarid region and is an important center for irrigated fruit growing. This region is responsible for 97% of the national exportation of table grapes, including seedless grapes. Based on the

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Effects of Saline Irrigation Water Applications on Evapotranspiration Partitioning and Crop Coefficient of Tomato Grown in Mediterranean-Type Greenhouses

open access: yesAgronomy
Accurate information regarding crop evapotranspiration (ETc) and its components is essential for proper water management. Salinity has become increasingly serious in many parts of the world, affecting the use of saline water in irrigation for various ...

CROP DATA RETRIEVAL USING EARTH OBSERVATION DATA TO SUPPORT AGRICULTURAL WATER MANAGEMENT [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2019
Accurate crop data are essential for reliable irrigation water requirements (IWR) calculations, which can be acquired during the crop growth season for a given region using earth observation (EO) satellite time series. In addition, a relationship between

Evaluation of evapotranspiration coefficient and daily crop reference evapotranspiration in a semi-arid region based on field water balance and FAO method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Precise estimation of daily crop reference evapotranspiration and crop coefficients (K c) is required for determining crop water use in order to practice proper irrigation management.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Assessing biogeochemical effects and best management practice for a wheat–maize cropping system using the DNDC model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Contemporary agriculture is shifting from a single-goal to a multi-goal strategy, which in turn requires choosing best management practice (BMP) based on an assessment of the biogeochemical effects of management alternatives.

Spatial and temporal stability of weed patches in cereal fields under direct drilling and harrow tillage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The adoption of conservation agriculture (CA) techniques by farmers is changing the dynamics of weed communities in cereal fields and so potentially their spatial distribution.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
