Identity and intimacy: An initial investigation of three theoretical models using cross-lag panel correlations

Journal of Youth and Adolescence, 1990
This investigation specified three models regarding the association between identity and intimacy formation and investigated their potential validity using a longitudinal cross-lag panel design. Seventy-one males and 71 females completed identity and intimacy measures on two occasions over a 5-week period.

Note on choosing between competing interpretations of cross-lagged panel correlations.

Psychological Bulletin, 1971
Campbell's cross-lagged correlation technique (Campbell & Stanley, 1963) has recently been discovered to offer competing interpretations (Rozelle & Campbell, 1969; Yee & Gage, 1968a, 1968b). Specifically, the technique in itself does not discriminate between congruent effects of one of the two variables involved and incongruent effects of the other. As

Interdisciplinary and military determinants of scientific productivity: A cross-lagged correlation analysis

Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1976
Abstract This paper explores the contemporaneous and intergenerational relationships among various scientific endeavors and military activity. Using European historical data from 1500 to 1900 A.D., generational (or 25-yr) fluctuations were examined for nine categories of scientific discovery and invention and for two aspects of military activity.

Cosmopolitan-Local: A Cross-Lagged Correlation Analysis of the Relationship Between Professional Role Orientations and Behaviors in an Academic Organization

Human Relations, 1987
This paper examines the development of professional role orientations. The theoretical foundation of this study is Gouldner's (1957, 1958) research of the cosmopolitan-local construct. The focus is on the relationship between the five dimensions of the cosmopolitan-local construct and professional behaviors.

The relationship between situational stress and phantom limb pain: Cross-lagged correlational data from six month pain logs

Journal of Psychosomatic Research, 1990
This study reports the results of the first investigation into the relationship between situational stress and phantom limb pain. Twenty-seven male amputees recorded their pain and overall stress levels daily for 180 days using a 1-10 rating scale. Three possible relationships into the etiology and/or maintenance of phantom limb pain were examined ...

Causal priority of social desirability over self-concept: A cross-lagged correlation analysis.

Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 1976
The study examined the causal relationship between social desirability (SD) and self-concept (SC). Two self-report instruments--Crandall's Children's Social Desirability Scale and the Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale--were administered before and after a 9-month therapeutic treatment designed to enhance self-concept.

POLAC: a Computer Program to Compute Auto-, Cross-Lagged, and Pooled Within-Cell Correlations

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
Abstract : Program POLAC computes auto- and cross-lag intercorrelation. The program independently computes lagged correlation matrices for any number of treatment conditions (cells) and then computes a pooled within cell lagged intercorrelation matrix based on all cells.

The Use of the Cross-Lagged Panel Correlation in Organizational Change and Development Research

2016
Cross-lagged correlation, which was developed by Campbell and Stanley (1963) as an inference procedure for determining causal predominance, is recommended for use in organization development and change research. The publication by Rogosa (1980) acted as a turning point for the development of this method by criticizing that it failed to provide adequate

Longitudinal correlates of learning burnout among Chinese adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic: A cross-lagged panel network analysis

Journal of Affective Disorders
Learning burnout as a serious psychological distress problem among adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic was investigated using the cross-lagged panel network models.A three-wave study using a sample of 11 to 18-year-olds in China was conducted, with baseline data collected in June 2020 (n = 4156) and follow-ups in December 2020 (n = 3209) and ...

Correlations among negative life events, sense of security, and internet addiction with Chinese university freshmen: A random intercept cross‐lagged analysis model

Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being
Abstract Few studies have investigated the longitudinal correlations among negative life events, a sense of security, and internet addiction (IA). The aim of the present study was to test these correlations in Chinese university freshmen.
