A Comprehensive Analysis of Northern versus Liquid Hybridization Assays for mRNAs, Small RNAs, and miRNAs Using a Non-Radiolabeled Approach

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology, 2021
Northern blotting (NB), a gold standard for RNA detection, has lost its charm due to its hands-on nature, need for good quality RNA, and radioactivity.

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Hyaluronic Acid Functionalization with Jeffamine® M2005: A Comparison of the Thermo-Responsiveness Properties of the Hydrogel Obtained through Two Different Synthesis Routes

open access: yesGels, 2021
Hyaluronic acid (HA) of different molar masses (respectively 38,000, 140,000 and 1,200,000 g.mol−1) have been functionalized with a commercial poly(etheramine), Jeffamine® M2005, in order to devise physical thermo-responsive hydrogels.

Immunoreactivity of chemically cross-linked gluten and hydrolysates of wheat flour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The immunoreactivity of gluten and wheat flour proteins crosslinked with chosen chemical reagents was investigated. Native proteins and flour hydrolysates subject to enzymatic proteolysis with collagenase and subtilisin were studied.

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Quantification of carboxyl groups in carbodiimide cross-linked collagen sponges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Glutaraldehyde (GA) fixation of bioprosthetic tissue is a well adapted technique, with commercial products on the market for almost 40 years. Amine groups present in tissue react with GA to form different types of cross-links. An estimation of the degree
