Cisplatin/carboplatin cross-resistance in ovarian cancer [PDF]
British Journal of Cancer, 1989 Forty-six patients who were treated with cisplatin or carboplatin for ovarian cancer developed resistant disease (no change in measurable disease or progressive disease) and 'crossed over' to the other platinum compound. Three patients (6.5%) responded to this second treatment but these patients had no survival advantage compared to the non-responders.

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
