Many Body Calculations of Photoionization Cross Sections

Physica Scripta, 1987
A review is given of many-body calculations of photoionization cross sections, and various theoretical techniques are compared. Experimental results are compared with calculations for both closed-shell and open-shell atoms. Particular attention is given to resonance strength. Multiple excitations due to photon absorption are also discussed.

Application of a radiotherapy simulator for imaging of body cross sections

The British Journal of Radiology, 1977
A map of cross-sectional tissue structure and associated linear attenuation coefficients within the body contour makes possible accurate treatment planning for radiation therapy. The high cost of transverse body section computerized tomographic (CT) scanners now available commercially will probably limit their application for this purpose to ...

A cross-sectional ultrasound imaging for measuring body composition

2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007
We have developed a measuring system to visualize a complete cross-sectional image of the human extremity using ultrasonography. This system uses several ultrasound probes, and these probes measure fragmentary graphical images of one cross-sectional plane which are then transformed into a complete cross-sectional image. The developed system is superior

Dieting behaviors, body shape perceptions, and body satisfaction: Cross-cultural differences in Argentinean and Swedish 13-year-olds

open access: yesBody Image, 2007
There are few studies comparing adolescents’ body satisfaction concerns cross-culturally despite evidence suggesting that adolescents with different ethnic origin vary in their attitudes toward their bodies.

Modified Slender Body Theory for a Structure of Variable Cross-Section

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2001
The authors present a general methodology for computing the hydrodynamic force and moment distribution acting on a slender three-dimensional structure with a variable, generally time-dependent circular cross-section (including sharp discontinuities).

Many-body calculation of photoionization cross sections in CO

Physical Review A, 1994
Total and partial photoionization cross sections are computed for CO at the fixed equilibrium internuclear separation. Finite basis sets were used, with no explicit recourse to continuum orbitals, and there is no need for input of empirical data such as the ionization threshold.

Radar cross section of arbitrarily shaped bodies of revolution

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1989
The radar cross section (RCS) of an arbitrarily shaped, homogeneous dielectric body of revolution (BOR) is evaluated by the surface integral equation (SIE) formulation and the method of moments. Method accuracy is verified by the good agreement with the exact solutions for the RCS of a dielectric sphere.

THE CORRELATED CROSS SECTION OF THE MANY-BODY SCATTERING

Acta Mathematica Scientia, 1996
Abstract In this paper the tensor probability current and continuity equation is obtained, with this the correlated cross section of many particle scattering can be evaluation.

Scattering cross section of composite conducting and lossy dielectric bodies

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1989
An E-field integral equation for the computation of the radar cross section of finite composite conducting and lossy inhomogeneous dielectric bodies is presented. The equivalence principle is used to replace all conducting bodies by an equivalent surface electric current, and the dielectric is replaced by an equivalent volume polarization current.
