Upper-Body Posture in Adolescent Pianists: A Cross-Sectional Study

Medical Problems of Performing Artists, 2020
AIMS: Although the significance of upper-body posture in relation to piano performance has often been highlighted, the role of experience remains unclear. The aim of this study was to examine selected upper body posture parameters in adolescent piano students of different performance level (beginners vs advanced).

STUDY OF THE RADAR CROSS SECTION OF SIMPLE BODIES

Extinction cross section of an arbitrary body in a viscous incompressible fluid

Physical Review E, 1995
When analyzing time-dependent Stokesian flow around an arbitrary body in terms of time-harmonic phasors, analytic techniques commonly used for frequency-domain scattering can be brought to bear. A common measure of the scattering response of a body is the extinction cross section. However, as the wave number for a Stokesian flow is necessarily complex,

Possible application of a radiotherapy simulator for imaging of body cross-sections

The British Journal of Radiology, 1976
The development of computerized transaxial tomography has opened up new possibilities in radiotherapy, where a knowledge of cross sectional anatomy is of importance for treatment planning. Work has already been done in this context by Chernak et al. (1975).

Radar cross-section of thin dielectric bodies

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1986
The radar cross-section of a thin dielectric ellipsoid of arbitrary size is derived. The solution is obtained by employing a quasistatic approximation to find the field inside the ellipsoid. Techniques described in the literature were used to determine the fields scattered by the ellipsoid in the far zone.

On the scattering cross section of bodies in inhomogeneous medium

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994
A theorem is proven that relates the scattering cross section of arbitrarily shaped scatterers to the scattered far field in one or two particular directions. This can be regarded as a generalization of the classical optical theorem (also known as the extinction theorem) for homogeneous medium of infinite extent.
