The Utilization of Mutants in Crossbreeding

The experiences, obtained in mutation breeding, show that it is possible in principle to develop a commercial variety directly from an induced mutant. According to the results available in this field, it is, however, the opinion of many geneticists, that the utilization of useful mutants in crossbreeding programs is more prospective.
