Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Effects of Sucralose Supplementation on Glycemic Response, Appetite, and Gut Microbiota in Subjects with Overweight or Obesity: A Randomized Crossover Study Protocol

open access: yesMethods and Protocols
Sucralose stands as the most common non-nutritive sweetener; however, its metabolic effects have sparked significant controversy over the years. We aim to examine the effects of sucralose daily intake on glycemia, subjective appetite, and gut microbiota (

Risk of Acute Stroke After Hospitalization for Sepsis: A Case-Crossover Study

open access: yesStroke, 2017
Background and Purpose— Infections have been found to increase the risk of stroke over the short term. We hypothesized that stroke risk would be highest shortly after a sepsis hospitalization, but that the risk would decrease, yet remain up to 1 year ...

Designing Metastable P3‐type Layered Negative Electrodes with High Na Vacancy Concentration for High‐Power Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A metastable high‐vacancy concentration layered P3‐type Na0.5Cr0.5Ti0.5O2 negative electrode material has been synthesized from its K analogues P3‐type K0.5Cr0.5Ti0.5O2 using a facile room temperature ion‐exchange method. The P3‐type Na0.5Cr0.5Ti0.5O2 demonstrates a gravimetric capacity of 125 mA h g−1 and high‐rate performance (80% charging in 3 min ...

Acute infection as a trigger for incident venous thromboembolism: Results from a population‐based case‐crossover study

open access: yesResearch and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2017
Essentials There is a bidirectional relation between acute infections and immobilization We studied the impact of infection and immobilization on risk of VTE in a case‐crossover design Acute infection was a strong trigger for VTE independent of ...

Shape‐Stabilization of Phase Change Materials with Carbon‐Conscious Poly(hydroxy)Urethane Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Poly(hydroxy)urethane (PHU) foam, derivable from carbon dioxide (CO2) and bio‐based resources, is a promising material platform for shape‐stabilizing phase change materials (PCMs). We demonstrate the encapsulation of both paraffins and calcium chloride hexahydrate in PHU foam, achieving 48 stable thermal cycles by introducing 5 wt.% barium carbonate ...

Ring-Based Crossovers in Genetic Algorithms: Characteristic Decomposition and Their Generalization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Effective crossover methods are essential for genetic algorithms because they enhance population diversity, resulting in an increase in the search space to be explored and the mitigation of trapping at local optima.

Bogoliubov spectrum of a cigar shaped Fermi superfluid in an optical lattice at the BEC-BCS crossover [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of physics B, vol. 40, 4453 (2007), 2007
We study the Bogoliubov spectrum of an elongated Fermi superfluid confined in an one-dimensional superfluid along the Bose-Einstein-condensate (BEC)-Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) crossover. We derive analytic expressions for the sound velocity, effective mass and the Bogoliubov excitation spectrum of the axial quasiparticles long the crossover based ...
