Cyclotron resonance photoconductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas in HgTe quantum wells

open access: yes, 2007
Far-infrared cyclotron resonance photoconductivity (CRP) is investigated in HgTe quantum wells (QWs) of various widths grown on (013) oriented GaAs substrates. It is shown that CRP is caused by the heating of two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG). From the

Integrating Radiomics and Computational Pathology to Predict Early Recurrence of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma and Uncover Its Biological Basis in Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Accurate prediction of early recurrence in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is vital for optimizing treatment. A novel, integrated radiomics‐pathology machine learning model successfully forecasts recurrence risks by analyzing preoperative CT images and computational pathology.

A Biomimetic Lubricant Captures Hyaluronic Acid In Situ to Regenerate Cartilage: From Bench to Bedside

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

CRP or not CRP? That Is the Question [PDF]

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, 2005
C-reactive protein (CRP) and cardiovascular disease is a very hot topic at present. Excitement and interest have spilled over dramatically from the scientific literature into the media and popular press leading to much speculative comment. However, rigorously controlled and reproducible studies are now laying the basis for a more realistic consensus ...

Peptide Receptor‐Functionalized AuNP‐Embedded Zwitterionic Biopolymeric Nanohydrogel for Electrochemical Sclerostin Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report an electrochemical biosensor that employs biopanning‐derived affinity peptides as selective receptors on a multifunctional chitosan–zwitterionic–gold nanoparticle (CS–ZI–AuNPs) nanohydrogel interface. The CS–ZI–AuNPs nanohydrogel exhibits antifouling properties, abundant sites for stable peptide immobilization, and efficient electrochemical ...

Axenic Culture of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Preparation of Sclerotinia Culture Filtrate Elicitor 1 (SCFE1)-containing Fractions, Triggering Immune Responses in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2014
The necrotrophic white mold fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (S. sclerotiorum) is pathogenic to a broad range of plant species, including the Brassicaceae model plant Arabidopsis thaliana (Boland and Hall, 1994; Bolton et al., 2006).

TRALI: hit by CRP [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 2015
In this issue of Blood, Kapur et al identify the acute-phase protein C-reactive protein (CRP), a general biomarker for infection and inflammation, as a potent mediator of antibody-dependent transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI). This study provides a novel and direct link between inflammation and TRALI, opening doors for possible new approaches

The Synergism of β‐Cyclodextrin and Fe3+ Enabled Anti‐Swelling Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels for Multimodal Underwater Sensing Aided by Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anti‐swelling ion‐conductive hydrogel is developed via β‐cyclodextrin and Fe3+ synergism, enabling reliable underwater motion sensing and Morse code communication. Integrated with machine learning, the system achieves 98.6% accuracy in real‐time underwater handwriting recognition for rapid information transmission.
