Peroxodisulfate‐Enhanced Leaching of Deep‐Sea Manganese Crusts and Sulfides

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Ammonium peroxodisulfate enables efficient leaching of deep‐sea manganese crusts and massive sulfides while offering electrolytic recycling. High leaching yields for V, Mn, Co, Mo, Sn, and W, along with complete leaching of As and Sb, highlight its potential as a powerful and sustainable oxidant for marine resource processing.

Delineation of 3D crustal seismic structures beneath western Tibet and the Himalayan range using local earthquake tomography

open access: yesSeismica
This study aims to image the crustal structure of the western Tibetan Plateau by analyzing the velocity structure of elastic waves, using manually picked P- and S-wave arrival times from waveform data recorded by temporarily installed seismic stations ...

Clathrate hydrate crystallization

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Clathrate hydrate crystallization has been an area of interest to chemical engineers from the point of view of crystal structure, thermophysical properties, phase equilibria, kinetics, industrial applications, and environmental (climate change) implications.

Influence of Crustal Magnetic Fields on Horizontal Plasma Transport and Ion Escape on Mars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Owing to its unevenly distributed crustal fields, Mars acts as a unique obstacle to the solar wind. In the presence of the crustal fields, the transport of the planetary ions on the dayside ionosphere exhibits north–south asymmetry.

Cytoflow: User‐Friendly Python Software for Computational Flow Cytometry

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Modern flow cytometry experiments routinely measure 18 or more fluorescent markers across many samples, patients, and tissues. As these experiments' complexity increases, manual gating becomes unacceptably inefficient and can introduce operator‐to‐operator variation. Computational cytometry algorithms such as unsupervised clustering, automated

An assessment of stress and production rate of sucker rod heat pipes in oil well pumping system

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The sucker rod pumping system is the preferred oil extraction technique. The concept about equipping the hollow vacuum space in solid sucker rods with heat pipe has been scrutinized in terms of stress and oil production evaluation. Abstract The implementation of the heat pipe concept in sucker rods for oil pumping systems negates the requirement for an

Crustal velocity structure on the flanks of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 24 N [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 1983
Summary. A detailed seismic refraction survey was made over a 70 × 35 km area of young (9 Ma) crust at 24°N 45°W to investigate the detailed velocity structure of a portion of ‘typical’ oceanic crust. An array of eight ocean bottom hydrophones was used to monitor 358 explosive charges and over 750 airgun shots.

Research progress and current status of dynamic wave propagation characteristics in rock mass: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.
