The effect of SU-8 patterned surfaces on the response of the quartz crystal microbalance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this work we present data showing the effect of patterning layers of SU-8 photoresist on a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and subsequent chemical treatment to increase their hydrophobicity. Patterns with 5 mu m diameter pillars spaced every 10 mu m

Reversed Crystal Growth

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
In the last decade, a reversed growth route has been found in many crystal growth processes. In these systems, a single crystal does not develop from a single nucleus.

Comparative Analysis of Cuticular Wax in Various Grape Cultivars During Berry Development and After Storage

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2021
Cuticular wax covering the surface of fleshy fruit is closely related to fruit glossiness, development, and post-harvest storage quality. However, the information about formation characteristics and molecular mechanisms of cuticular wax in grape berry is

The morphology of bone mineral crystals

open access: yesCalcified Tissue Research, 1978
Electron microscopical observations of the size and shape of bone mineral crystallites have not been in complete agreement with X-ray diffraction findings. The two prevalent viewpoints consider bone mineral crystals to be either rod, or plate like in habit.

Three-dimensional nanostructure determination from a large diffraction data set recorded using scanning electron nanodiffraction

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2016
A diffraction-based technique is developed for the determination of three-dimensional nanostructures. The technique employs high-resolution and low-dose scanning electron nanodiffraction (SEND) to acquire three-dimensional diffraction patterns, with the ...

Structure and Morphology of Indole Analogue Crystals [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega, 2020
Indole and six simple analogues were crystallized in different environments to study the crystal habit changes. All crystal structures were determined by X-ray diffraction experiments. Lattice energies based on DFT-D3 periodic calculations and framework analysis were used to define the most important intermolecular interactions in the crystal ...

Growth and morphology of C60 crystals [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 1992
Abstract Single crystals of pure C 60 are grown from the vapour phase. The crystal morphology is compared to the theoretical equilibrium form, predicted on the basis of a periodic bond chain analysis and a statistical mechanical approach. Some interesting growth phenomena are observed and discussed.
