TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Theoretical consideration of the growth morphology of crystals [PDF]
A theoretical approach for the prediction of the growth forms of crystals is presented on the basis of the kinetics of crystal growth. To describe the growth morphology of crystals, the more precise relations between the relative growth rate of the crystal faces {hkl} ${\mathit{R}}_{\mathit{hkl}}^{\mathrm{red}}$ and habit-controlling factors are ...

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

In this paper, a two-dimensional (2D) axisymmetric model subjected to the gas shear effect and thermal Marangoni effect is developed. It is highlighted that the growth conditions of pulling rate, gas flow rate, crucible, and crystal rotation rates play ...

Analysis of the structure and morphology of fenoxycarb crystals [PDF]
In this paper we have explored the relationship between surface structure and crystal growth and morphology of fenoxycarb (FC). Experimental vs. predicted morphologies/face indices of fenoxycarb crystals are presented. Atomic-scale surface structures of the crystalline particles, derived from experimentally-indexed single crystals, are also modelled ...

Filamentous Crystal Growth In Organic Liquids And Selection Of Crystal Morphology
Abstract Filamentous crystals such as whisker crystals are often seen not only in metallic liquids, but also in organic liquids and solutions. They are interested as reinforce materials. However, it remains challenging to induce filamentous crystals due to an incomplete understanding of the mechanisms behind their formation.
