Theory of Exciton Recombination from the Magnetically Induced Wigner Crystal

open access: yes, 1996
We study the theory of itinerant-hole photoluminescence of two-dimensional electron systems in the regime of the magnetically induced Wigner crystal.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

3-Cyano-N-methylpyridinium perchlorate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
In the crystal of the title molecular salt, C7H7N2+·ClO4−, the components are linked by C—H...O and C—H...N interactions, generating zigzag chains running parallel to [100].

Structure of the World Crystal [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physics, 1998
Identifying space with a superconducting cosmic dust, the structure of the ‘world crystal’ is built. Particles moving on open geodesics are assimilated with the ‘electron gas’ in a lattice, and those moving on closed geodesics with nodes of the same lattice.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

4-Chloro-3-ethylphenol

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
The title compound, C8H9ClO, packs with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, without significant differences in corresponding bond lengths and angles, with the ethyl group in each oriented nearly perpendicular to the aromatic ring having ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Bis(1,3-thiazol-2-aminium) hexachloridostannate(IV)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C3H5N2S)2[SnCl6], contains one cation in a general position and one-half of the dianion situated on an inversion center. The geometry of the [SnCl6]2− dianion is almost regular octahedral.

Crystal structure of fenclorim

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Crystallographic Communications, 2015
In the title compound, C10H6Cl2N2(systematic name: 4,6-dichloro-2-phenylpyrimidine), which is used commercially as the herbicide safener, fenclorim, the dihedral angle between the dichloropyrimidyl and phenyl rings is 9.45 (10)°. In the crystal, C—H...N hydrogen bonds link adjacent molecules, forming chains along thec-axis direction.

Degeneracy analysis for a super cell of a photonic crystal and its application to the creation of band gaps

open access: yes, 2002
A method is introduced to analyze the degeneracy properties of the band structure of a photonic crystal making use of the super cells. The band structure associated with a super cell of a photonic crystal has degeneracies at the edge of the Brillouin ...
