Studies of the crystalline lens using magnetic resonance imaging
The eye lens grows continuously throughout life and changes its shape as the eye changes focus from a distant to a near object (the process of accommodation).

Crystalline lens imaging with a slit-scanning system [PDF]
[Introduction] The human crystalline lens plays a fundamental role on the retinal image quality. The ability of the lens to change its shape and, consequently, the total refractive power of the eye, during accommodation, enables one to focus objects at a

Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Phakic Intraocular Lenses An Overview
Currently, there are four general approaches to correct refractive errors: refractive corneal surgery, crystalline lens surgery, and implantation of an intraocular lens (IOL) in the anterior or posterior chamber.

This work studies the effect of halide alloying in Cs3Bi2(Br1−xIx)9 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) semiconductors. The x = 0.6 shows the smallest bandgap, lowest exciton binding energy, and longest charge carrier lifetimes, showing promising properties for optoelectronic and photocatalytic applications.

Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

AN UNUSUAL LUXATION OF THE CRYSTALLINE LENS. [PDF]
The position of the luxated lens, and the circumstances attending its displacement are unusual, and hence it seems worthy of recording. On the 14th of June last C. D., a boy of twelve years of age, was brought to me with the following history: About three weeks ago the right eye became sore, the left following in turn a week later.
