Population Balance and CFD Simulation of Particle Aggregation and Growth in a Continuous Confined Jet Mixer for Hydrothermal Synthesis of Nanocrystals

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
Population balance and computational fluid dynamics models are built and integrated to carry out a simulation study of the reactive crystallisation process in a confined jet mixer (CJM) for the continuous flow synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles at a ...

Synthesis, Characterization, and Analysis of Probenecid and Pyridine Compound Salts

open access: yesCrystals
This study aimed to address the issue of the low solubility in the model drug probenecid (PRO) and its impact on bioavailability. Two salts of probenecid (PRO), 4-aminopyridine (4AMP), and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (4DAP) were synthesized and characterized

Effects of crystallization and dopant concentration on the emission behavior of TiO2:Eu nanophosphors

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2012
Uniform, spherical-shaped TiO2:Eu nanoparticles with different doping concentrations have been synthesized through controlled hydrolysis of titanium tetrabutoxide under appropriate pH and temperature in the presence of EuCl3·6H2O.

The Ladder Crystal [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2009
In this paper, we introduce a new model of the crystal $B(\Lambda _0)$ of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_{\ell}}$. We briefly describe some of the properties of this crystal and compare it to the combinatorial model of Misra and Miwa. Dans cet article on propose un nouveau modèle du cristal $B(\Lambda _0)$ de \$\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_{\ell}}$.

The anabolic steroid stanozolol is a potent inhibitor of human MutT homolog 1

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MutT homolog 1 (MTH1) is a member of the NUDIX superfamily of enzymes and is an anticancer drug target. We show that stanozolol (Stz), an anabolic steroid, is an unexpected nanomolar inhibitor of MTH1. The X‐ray crystal structure of the human MTH1–Stz complex reveals a unique binding scaffold that could be utilized for future inhibitor development ...

A Novel Route to Manufacture 2D Layer MoS2 and g-C3N4 by Atmospheric Plasma with Enhanced Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalysis

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
An atmospheric plasma treatment strategy was developed to prepare two-dimensional (2D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) nanosheets from (NH4)2MoS4 and bulk g-C3N4, respectively.

Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

Single cis‐elements in brassinosteroid‐induced upregulated genes are insufficient to recruit both redox states of the BIL1/BZR1 DNA‐binding domain

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.
