Microaxial Flow Pump Support as a Bridge to Transaxillary TAVI‐In‐TAVI in Cardiogenic Shock

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT A 79‐year‐old man presented with cardiogenic shock due to severe degeneration of a prior transcatheter aortic valve. Temporary mechanical circulatory support with a transvalvular microaxial flow pump was initiated, resulting in rapid stabilization.

Predictors and a Nomogram for Parenchymal Hematoma After Endovascular Thrombectomy in Large Core Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study developed and internally validated a nomogram incorporating baseline NIHSS score, monocytes, platelets, post‐thrombectomy fasting blood glucose, and number of passes to predict parenchymal hematoma after EVT in large core infarctions. A pass‐by‐IVT interaction suggests minimizing unnecessary passes during direct thrombectomy.

Time Is Aorta: Can Artificial Intelligence Improve Surgical Timelines in Acute Type A Aortic Dissection? A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Acute Type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) is a surgical emergency in which delays in diagnosis, transfer, and operative activation increase mortality and organ damage. Artificial intelligence (AI) may support earlier recognition, faster imaging interpretation, and more efficient multidisciplinary communication.

Intermuscular Adipose Tissue as a Multimodality Quantitative Imaging Biomarker: Evidence Across Metabolic, Cardiovascular and Oncologic Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Intermuscular adipose tissue (IMAT) refers to adipose tissue located between muscle groups or beneath the muscle fascia, and its accumulation is closely linked to impaired muscle quality, reduced contractile function, and adverse metabolic profiles, establishing it as a core component of myosteatosis.
