Highly ordered CTAB-templated organosilicate films
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2005Well- ordered organic - inorganic mesoporous films are prepared using an original two- step synthesis and compositions up to 50 mol% methyltriethoxysilane ( MTES). These materials exhibit the three different mesostructures ( 2D- hexagonal, 3D- hexagonal and cubic) previously observed in the pure silica system with significant modifications of their ...

CTAB-Influenced Electrochemical Dissolution of Silver Dendrites
Langmuir, 2016Dendrite formation on the electrodes of a rechargeable battery during the charge-discharge cycle limits its capacity and application due to short-circuits and potential ignition. However, understanding of the underlying dendrite growth and dissolution mechanisms is limited.

Abstract ESR spectroscopy was used in this study to monitor the aggregation behavior of cationic surfactant [cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in aqueous solution by measuring the rotational correlation time τ of a nitroxide labeled fatty acid probe (5-doxyl stearic acid) as a function of the surfactant concentration.

Acid–base equilibrium of puerarin in CTAB micelles
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2007Electronic absorption spectra, fluorescence emission spectra, 1HNMR and ab initio quantum calculation are used to study the acid-base equilibrium of puerarin in cetytrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) micelles with different microstructures and microenvironments.

Adsolubilization of dihydroxybenzenes into CTAB layers on silica particles
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2007The adsolubilization of dihydroxybenzenes (catechol and hydroquinone) into cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) layers on silica particles have been investigated by dye method and UV spectrum. It is found that the adsolubilization amount of catechol increases with increasing the concentration of CTAB, reaches a maximum value at the critical micelle ...

The influence of temperature on the adsorption of CTAB on coals
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2011Abstract The influence of temperature on the adsorption behavior of the cationic surfactant cetyltrimethyl amonium bromide (CTAB) has been studied. Batch mode was used for the adsorption of CTAB on three different types of coal, namely oxidative altered coal (BO), subbituminous coal (SB) and bituminous coal (BC). Adsorption from aqueous solutions was

Shapes and sizes of micelles in CTAB solutions
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1991SANS from micellar solutions of pure cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) with and without addition of NaSal has been studied. It is found that micelles are ellipsoidal (C=A≠B) and the BA ratio depends on concentrations of CTAB and NaSal and on the temperature of the solution. The BA values over a range of concentration and temperature are obtained.
