CTAB Stabilizes Silver on Gold Nanorods

, 2020
We present a study that allows us to explain the chemical changes behind the often observed but so far ununderstood drift of the plasmon resonance of chemically prepared gold nanorods in microfluid...

Structure and stoichiometry of CTAB–DNA complexes

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2020
We have studied the structure of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide–DNA complexes using small angle x-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. These complexes exhibit a two-dimensional hexagonal phase. The diffraction data have been analyzed using electron density models based on two different structures of these complexes proposed in the literature, which ...

Effect of CTAB and procain hydrochloride on neutral red microstructure in CTAB micelle

Colloid Journal, 2008
The effects of cationic surfactant (CTAB) and procaine hydrochloride on the microstructures of neutral red (NR) are studied by UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and surface tension and conductivity measurements. The obtained results show that the acidic structure of NR can be gradually transformed to its neutral structure with an increase ...

Highly Efficient and Durable Piezoelectric Nanogenerator and Photo-power cell Based on CTAB Modified Montmorillonite Incorporated PVDF Film

ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, 2019
Herein, we have successfully designed two ecofriendly, biocompatible, and cost-effective devices, i.e., a piezoelectric nanogenerator (PENG) and a self-charged photo-power cell (PPC) by developing a multifunctional cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB ...

Structure of DNA-CTAB-hexanol complexes

Physical Review E, 2006
We have probed structures of the complexes formed by DNA with the cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide in the presence of the cosurfactant hexanol, using small angle x-ray diffraction techniques. They are found to exhibit a hexagonal-->lamellar-->hexagonal transition with increasing hexanol content.

CTAB-PAGE

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2010
INTRODUCTIONAlthough SDS-PAGE is the method of choice for most denaturing gel electrophoresis procedures, the anionic detergent SDS still presents some drawbacks. For example, SDS forms crystals at low temperatures and, in some cases, causes proteins to aggregate or precipitate.

Ultrasonic Studies of Ctab in Glycol

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2003
Ultrasonic absorption and velocity measurements have been made in cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) in nonaqueous solution of ethylene glycol as a function of concentration, temperature, and at a fixed frequency. The interferometer technique has been used to measure ultrasonic velocity at 2 MHz.

The interaction between morin and CTAB aggregates

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005
Electronic absorption spectra, fluorescence emission spectra, ATR-FTIR spectra, cyclic voltammetric measurements, and ab initio quantum calculation are used to study the properties of morin in CTAB micelles with different microstructures and microenvironments and to gain information about the binding of morin with CTAB micelles. Morin can be located in

Preparation of CTAB-functionalized aqai stalk and its efficient application as adsorbent for the removal of Direct Blue 15 and Direct Red 23 dyes from aqueous media

Chemical Engineering Communications, 2018
In this work, a new adsorbent material based on the chemical modification of aqai stalk (AS) with hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was proposed, forming a new material called AS-CTAB.

Combing DNA on CTAB-coated surfaces

Biophysical Chemistry, 2004
A fluorescence microscope (FM) coupled with an intensified charge-coupled device (ICCD) camera was used to investigate the combing of DNA on cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB)-coated glass surfaces. DNA molecules can be combed uniform and straight on CTAB-coated surfaces. Different combing characteristics at different pH values were found. At lower
