CTAB Mediated Reshaping of Metallodielectric Nanoparticles

Nano Letters, 2003
We report on the dramatic chemical reshaping of metallodielectric nanoparticles upon exposure to cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in aqueous solutions. Metal nanoshells possessing a silica core with a gold shell were observed to undergo a morphological change from their initial shell structure to that of large, elongated gold nanoparticles or ...

Highly ordered CTAB-templated organosilicate films

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2005
Well- ordered organic - inorganic mesoporous films are prepared using an original two- step synthesis and compositions up to 50 mol% methyltriethoxysilane ( MTES). These materials exhibit the three different mesostructures ( 2D- hexagonal, 3D- hexagonal and cubic) previously observed in the pure silica system with significant modifications of their ...

Hierarchical ZSM-11 zeolite prepared by alkaline treatment with mixed solution of NaOH and CTAB: characterization and application for alkylation of benzene with dimethyl ether

, 2016
A facile alkaline treatment with the addition of surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) to prepare hierarchical ZSM-11 zeolite (Z-xat-yCTAB) is presented.

Studies on cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) micellar solution and CTAB reversed microemulsion by ESR and 2H NMR

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1997
Abstract ESR spectroscopy was used in this study to monitor the aggregation behavior of cationic surfactant [cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in aqueous solution by measuring the rotational correlation time τ of a nitroxide labeled fatty acid probe (5-doxyl stearic acid) as a function of the surfactant concentration.

Fast local dynamics in CTAB micelles

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
Molecular dynamics of cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide (CTAB) micelle has been studied in the temperature range 310-340 K using quasielastic neutron scattering technique. Data analysis clearly shows the presence of two distinct motions; i) whole micellar motion or global diffusion and ii) faster internal motion of the CTAB monomer.

Synthesis, physicochemical, and biological activities of novel N‐acyl tyrosine monomeric and Gemini surfactants in single and SDS/CTAB–mixed micellar system

, 2017
A series of single-chained N-acyl tyrosine surfactants with varying chain lengths (C10-C18) and degree of unsaturation, as well as an N-acyl Gemini tyrosine surfactant with chain length C12, were synthesized, and the structures were confirmed using ...

CTAB-directed synthesis of mesoporous γ-alumina promoted by hydroxy carboxylate: The interplay of tartrate and CTAB

Solid State Sciences, 2011
Abstract Mesoporous γ-aluminas are prepared via a facile one-pot hydrothermal method using aluminum sulfate as a precursor, urea as precipitating agents, sodium tartrate and CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) as co-templates respectively. Characterizations of the intermediate aluminum oxyhydroxides by IR, XRD, element analysis and TG show that the

Acid–base equilibrium of puerarin in CTAB micelles

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2007
Electronic absorption spectra, fluorescence emission spectra, 1HNMR and ab initio quantum calculation are used to study the acid-base equilibrium of puerarin in cetytrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) micelles with different microstructures and microenvironments.

Conversion of methanol to propylene over nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite aggregates synthesized by a modified seed-induced method with CTAB

, 2016
A facile and economical route to synthesize nano-sized ZSM-5 zeolite aggregates with mesopores was developed by a modified seed-induced method using silicate-1 (S-1) as seeds without additional templates in the presence of a trace amount of ...
