Comparative analysis of primary immune thrombocytopenia and immune thrombocytopenia secondary to connective tissue diseases

open access: yesHematology
Objectives To explore the differences between primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and ITP secondary to connective tissue disease (CTD-ITP).Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted on patients newly diagnosed with primary ITP and CTD ...

Evaluation of seismic reflector slopes with a Yoyo-CTD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In spring 2007 a dedicated seismic and oceanographic experiment was conducted in the Gulf of Cadiz. Employing two research vessels seismic and hydrographic observations were made contemporaneously and in close proximity.

Magnetocardiography combined with machine learning for pulmonary hypertension detection and improved short‐term risk assessment

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Magnetocardiography (MCG) enables non‐invasive mapping of cardiac magnetic fields. In this study, an MCG‐based machine learning model detects pulmonary hypertension with robust performance. Furthermore, MCG features may improve the accuracy of short‐term risk assessment.

Phosphocyclocreatine is the dominant form of cyclocreatine in control and creatine transporter deficiency patient fibroblasts

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2019
Creatine transporter deficiency (CTD) is a metabolic disorder resulting in cognitive, motor, and behavioral deficits. Cyclocreatine (cCr), a creatine analog, has been explored as a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of CTD.

The Comparative Toxicogenomics Database facilitates identification and understanding of chemical-gene-disease associations: arsenic as a case study

open access: yesBMC Medical Genomics, 2008
Background The etiology of many chronic diseases involves interactions between environmental factors and genes that modulate physiological processes. Understanding interactions between environmental chemicals and genes/proteins may provide insights into ...

RBMX Transcriptionally Repressed by EZH2‐Associated H3K27me3 Modification Attenuates Pyroptosis in Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury via Regulating SIRT3/NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ischemic reperfusion injury (IRI) to kidney is a significant clinical factor in acute kidney injury (AKI). This study aimed to investigate the new role of RNA‐binding motif protein X‐linked (RBMX), a modulator of m6A methylation, in renal IRI and to examine the associated regulatory mechanisms. An in vitro renal IRI model was established using

RV Pelagia Cruise 64PE372, 27 Jun - 11 Jul 2013. Flow dynamics and sedimentation in an active submarine channel: a process-product approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Novel technologies are providing new opportunities to study the structure and dynamics of submarine sediment-gravity flows; these flows are the dominant process for transfer of sediment into the deep ocean, but are very hard to monitor due their ...

Ocean acidification at the crossroads I: Harmonizing unpurified and purified meta‐cresol purple spectrophotometric pHT measurements based on absorbance data

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Consistent monitoring of seawater spectrophotometric pH on the total hydrogen ion scale (pHT) has been questioned by an evolving method, with changes in parameterization and the purity of the meta‐cresol purple (mCP). Using real seawater samples, we demonstrate that spectrophotometric pHT measurements obtained with unpurified (UNPUR) and ...

Under the dual effect of inflammation and pulmonary fibrosis, CTD-ILD patients possess a greater susceptibility to VTE

open access: yesThrombosis Journal
As an autoimmune disease, the persistent systemic inflammatory response associated with connective tissue disease (CTD) is involved in the development of venous thromboembolism (VTE).

RRS Discovery Cruise 365, 11 May-02 Jun 2011. The Extended Ellett Line 2011 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Extended Ellett Line is a full-depth hydrographic section between Iceland, 60°N 20°W, Rockall and Scotland. The original Ellett Line across the Rockall Trough was first occupied in 1975 when measurements were attempted four times a year.
