Laser wire directed energy deposition process was leveraged to fabricate large scale NiTi alloy wall. Evaluation of build‐height‐dependent tribo‐mechanical properties revealed significant differences in location specific sample characteristics. The middle region achieved optimal performance (superior wear resistance, balanced strength‐ductility ...

Challenges during Flash Lamp Annealing of Aerosol‐Deposited Barium Titanate Films
Aerosol deposition is used to rapidly deposit barium titanate films with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 μm at room temperature, eliminating the need for further densification. However, to recover the electromechanical properties, annealing is required, which limits the usage of temperature‐sensitive substrates.

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Ab initio simulations of Cu binding sites in the N-terminal region of PrP [PDF]
The prion protein (PrP) binds Cu2+ ions in the octarepeat domain of the N-terminal tail up to full occupancy at pH=7.4. Recent experiments show that the HGGG octarepeat subdomain is responsible for holding the metal bound in a square planar coordination.

Comparison of ZnO-Supported Cu, Cu-Mn, Cu-Fe, Cu-Co and Cu-Ni Catalysts in CO Hydrogenation
Paper presented at the 10th International Congress on Catalysis, Budapest, 19-24th July 1992. Cu/ZnO catalysts prepared by precipitation have been modified by Mn, Fe, Co and Ni. After characterisation these have been assessed for their activity and selectivity in CO hydrogenation.
