In this study, Mg-doped Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films were prepared by the ionic solution spraying method, which is simple, low cost, and low temperature. The samples were annealed at the optimal doping level.

Novel Cu–Ni–Sn–S nanocrystals (NCs) stabilized with thioglycolic acid are synthesized in aqueous solutions. The structural and optical properties of Cu–Ni–Sn–S NCs are examined in colloidal solutions and thin films and compared to those of Cu–Zn–Sn–S NCs. The absorption coefficient is α > 104 cm−1 at 400 nm with an estimated Eg≈2.2 eV.
