Comparison of cubic, quadratic, and quintic splines for soil erosion modeling
Approximate curve is constructed using quadratic, quintic, and cubic splines and examination between these splines. The point of this construction is to predict sediment yield index (SYI) corresponding to curve number.

A normalizing flow models a complex probability density as an invertible transformation of a simple density. The invertibility means that we can evaluate densities and generate samples from a flow. In practice, autoregressive flow-based models are slow to invert, making either density estimation or sample generation slow.

Comparison of selected splines for stem form modeling: A case study in Norway spruce
Natural cubic spline has been frequently used to represent stem forms, with other spline types rarely involved. Splines are a large class of functions and there are many other spline types which might serve that purpose.

A new structure formulations for cubic B-spline collocation method in three and four-dimensions
In this work, we introduce a new construct to the cubic B-spline collocation method in the three and four-dimensions. The cubic B-splines method format is displayed in one, two, three, and four-dimensions format.

Isogeometric Schwarz Preconditioners with Generalized B-Splines for the Biharmonic Problem
We construct an overlapping additive Schwarz preconditioner for the biharmonic Dirichlet problems discretized by isogeometric analysis based on generalized B-splines (GB-splines) and analyze its optimal convergence rate bound that is cubic in the ratio ...

Cubic splines solutions of the higher order boundary value problems arise in sandwich panel theory
An inventive strategy is bestowed here to acquire the numeral roots of nonlinear boundary value problems(BVPs) of 14th-order utilizing cubic splines. Two cubic splines; Polynomial and non-polynomial, are exploited to find out the solutions of nonlinear ...

The EH Interpolation Spline and Its Approximation
A new interpolation spline with two parameters, called EH interpolation spline, is presented in this paper, which is the extension of the standard cubic Hermite interpolation spline, and inherits the same properties of the standard cubic Hermite ...

Cubic Splines with Minimal Norm [PDF]
The author considers cubic splines which minimize some norms (or functionals) on the class of interpolatory cubic splines. The cases of classical cubic splines with defect one and of Hermite \(C^1\) splines with spline knots different from the points of interpolation are discussed.
