GC × GC‐TOF MS and Sensory Profiling of Aroma Compounds in Magnolia Species: Effects of Processing Methods on Volatile Retention in M. wufengensis

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, EarlyView.
The first comparative analysis of Magnolia scents reveals that M. wufengensis is characterised by a high aldehyde content, exhibiting a fresh, sweet, and fruity fragrance profile. Furthermore, freeze‐drying preserves 6.7 times more 2‐nonenal compared to shade‐drying, highlighting its superior efficacy in retaining key volatile compounds.

Determination of Chilling Requirement of Arkansas Thornless Blackberry Cultivars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Little research has been done to determine the chilling requirement for blackberry cultivars. However, field observations from areas where fewer hours of chilling occur indicate that ‘Navaho’ requires more hours of chilling than does ‘Arapaho’.

Effect of Storage Temperature and Materials on Protein Quality and Functional Properties of Soybeans

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
Hermetic PICS bags combined with cool storage (15°C) effectively preserved soybean protein quality and functional properties ([protein solubility, emulsifying capacity, and oil absorption capacity] of soybean protein isolates) during storage. Polypropylene bags and 25°C accelerated protein deterioration lead to significant nutritional losses.
