Mitigating Cancer Therapy–Related Cognitive Impairment by Targeted Activation of Undruggable Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An RVG‑engineered exosomal saRNA delivery system (RVG‑EVs‑saPtpro) effectively targets and activates hippocampal PTPRO, functioning as a “molecular brake” to alleviate cancer therapy‑related cognitive impairment (CTRCI) by enhancing neuronal survival, neurogenesis, and synaptic plasticity.

Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,

Adaptation and implementation of the Cultural Formulation Interview and training module for pediatric neuropsychology providers

open access: yesApplied Neuropsychology: Child
Conceptual frameworks for cultural competence are essential in psychological care. The assessment of implementation efforts in pediatric neuropsychological contexts is particularly lacking. This study investigated an adapted training program for the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI), including impact on provider cultural competence and perspectives ...

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Training on the Cultural Formulation Interview and self-assessed cultural competence in practitioners working in student counseling services

open access: yesTranscultural Psychiatry
The use of the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI), a semi-structured 16-item cultural assessment developed for the DSM-5, has not yet been evaluated in the context of post-secondary education campuses (Cégeps and universities). The aim of this study was to assess whether a 2-h training session on the CFI improved cultural competence in clinicians ...

BIN1 and ALDH1B1 Deficiency in Colonic Smooth Muscle Drives Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Fibrosis in Slow‐Transit Constipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Slow‐transit constipation (STC) is a disabling motility disorder with unclear smooth‐muscle mechanisms. Spatial proteomic analysis of STC patient colon reveals both the central pathogenic role of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in STC and novel regulators of intestinal motility, BIN1 and ALDH1B1.

Optimized Ex Vivo Human Liver Slice Culture Maintains Extended Viability and Function for Hepatotoxicity Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optimized ex vivo human liver slice culture system preserves tissue architecture, hepatocyte function, and immune‐stromal complexity for at least five days. By refining slice thickness, oxygenation, air‐liquid interface, and extracellular matrix support, the platform enables human‐relevant hepatotoxicity testing and mechanistic studies, offering a ...
