Learning, Development, and Cultural-Historical Activity Theory
2012In this chapter, we (a) contextualize early childhood science and (b) outline the foundation of our approach: cultural-historical activity. We focus on the dynamic aspects of the theory, as A. N. Leont’ev originally presented it and as it was subsequently further developed by Russian (Il’enkov, Mikhailov) and Western scholars (Holzkamp, Dreier, Nissen).
