Culture ofHelicobacter pylori under aerobic conditions on solid media
European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, 1994The aim of the present study was to culture Helicobacter pylori under aerobic conditions and to investigate the characteristics of the organism when cultured aerobically. Most (22 of 23) of the Helicobacter pylori isolates grew under aerobic conditions, but with reduced viable cell counts. Blood agar was more suitable than chocolate agar.

Purification of tenascin from conditioned tissue culture media
Journal of Tissue Culture Methods, 1994We describe a purification procedure of human tenascin from conditioned medium of SK-MEL-28 melanoma cell line which involves the use of a hydroxyapatite chromatography column followed by polyethyleneglycol precipitation of crude tenascin eluted from the hydroxyapatite column.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nano-sized lipid-membrane bound structures that are released from all cells, are present in all biofluids, and contain proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids that are reflective of the parent cell from which they are derived.

Conditioned media from activated lymphocytes maintain sympathetic neurons in culture
Developmental Brain Research, 1982Nerve growth factor (NGF) is vital for the development and maintenance of sympathetic neurons. In the present report, we demonstrate that NGF maintenance activity can be substituted by lymphoid cells. Indeed, coculturing lymphoid cells with sympathetic neurons in the absence of exogenous NGF resulted in neuronal survival, as measured by morphological ...

Glucagon production by cultured pancreatic islets: Effects of different culture conditions and media
In Vitro, 1981Various conditions for tissue culture of collagenase-isolated mouse pancreatic islets were studied for their effects on the glucagon production of the cultured specimens. Culture media containing heat-treated bovine calf serum degraded [125I]glucagon to a much less extent than those supplemented with untreated serum.

Glial conditioned media inhibit the proliferation of cultured rat cerebellar astrocytes
Neurochemical Research, 1987Conditioned medium (CM) obtained from rat cerebellar astrocytes cultured in a serum-containing medium was able to inhibit [3H]thymidine incorporation into proliferating astrocytes, when compared to fresh medium. This effect could be attributed to two fractions of the CM with different molecular weights. The low molecular weight fraction (Mr less than 1,

Corynebacterium bovis Growth in Tissue Culture Conditions and Media
Journal of the American Association for Laboratory Animal ScienceA common concern in preclinical cancer research is the introduction of Corynebacterium bovis into immunodeficient mouse colonies through cancer cell lines. C. bovis is a known contaminant of patient-derived xenograft tumors passaged horizontally between immunodeficient mice. However, it is unclear if C.

Glutathione in conditioned media of tobacco suspension cultures
Phytochemistry, 1976Abstract Conditioned media of suspension cultures of Nicotiana tabacum var. Samsun contain 0.15-0.20 mmol/l glutathione. These concentrations correspond closely to the intracellular content of glutathione and represent about three to four times the amount of glutathione needed to maintain the intracellular level of glutathione.

Optimal Conditions for Streptococcus pneumoniae Culture: In Solid and Liquid Media
2019Control of Streptococcus pneumoniae is mainly achieved by the use of existing vaccines. Capsular polysaccharides are the major antigenic component and are also the main virulence factor.Capsular polysaccharides must fulfill requirements of purity, uniformity, and an accurate molecular weight to be used as vaccine antigens.

Comparison of media and growth conditions for culturing enterohepaticHelicobacterspecies
Letters in Applied Microbiology, 2019This research aims to compare the culturing conditions for enterohepatic Helicobacter, evaluating culture media, incubation atmosphere and susceptibility to antimicrobials used to generate selective conditions. Four common media for the closely related genus Campylobacter (Columbia, Bolton, Brucella and CCDA agar), as well as the need for hydrogen in ...
