Promotive factors for callus initiation and plant regeneration in upland rice

open access: yesAnnals of Tropical Research, 2002
Factors promotive to the initiation of embryogenic callus and regeneration of plants in upland rice were investigated using mature dehulled seeds. The objectives are to enhance the production of embryrogenic callus and increase regeneration of plants ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Three-dimensional cell culture and tissue engineering in a T-CUP (tissue culture under perfusion) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The aim of this study was to develop and validate a simple and compact bioreactor system for perfusion cell seeding and culture through 3-dimensional porous scaffolds.

CULTURE MEDIUM, MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND BACTERIAL CULTURE PROCESS

open access: yes, 2021
The present invention relates to a bacterial culture medium, to a method for manufacturing the culture medium, as well as to a method for culturing a bacterium, which is particularly effective for cultures of bacteria sensitive and even very sensitive to

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Culture in development strategies of small and medium-sized European cities: A comparative analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In the past decades, many European cities have implemented culture development strategies as a way to respond to economic challenges, but also social, environmental and cultural requirements. Following a relational approach, we focus on the initiatives

Germinación asimbiótica de semillas y desarrollo in vitro de plántulas de Cattleya mendelii Dombrain (Orchidaceae) Asymbiotic seed germination and in vitro seedling development of Cattleya mendelii Dombrain (Orchidaceae)

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Optimizing growth and conidia production of Cercospora medicaginis

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2010
The fungus Cercospora medicaginis is pathogenic to annual and perennial Medicago species. It grows slowly and produces only few conidia. To test the pathogenicity or virulence of C.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
