Polymer supported catalyst for the effective autoxidation of cumene to cumene hydroperoxide

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Catalysis A, 1997
Abstract The autoxidation of cumene to cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) in the presence of catalyst which was prepared by adsorbing copper(II) acetate onto polymer support, was investigated. When a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer with sulfonic acid functional groups was used as a support, the resulting catalyst had no catalytic activity.

Detailed thermal and kinetic modeling of cumene hydroperoxide decomposition in cumene

open access: yesProcess Safety and Environmental Protection, 2013
The characterization of thermal decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) in cumene from kinetic point of view is of great interest for industrial applications. However, the efforts done so far by the researchers lead only to the availability of single kinetic laws (first order, autocatalytic, etc.) whose usefulness is strongly limited by the ...

Carbon nanotubes as catalyst for the aerobic oxidation of cumene to cumene hydroperoxide

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2014
Abstract The effective oxidation reaction system using the commercial carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as catalysts for the liquid aerobic oxidation of cumene to cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) under low temperature is reported in this paper. Several reaction parameters, including the temperature, catalyst content, oxygen flow rate and reaction time were carefully

Understanding of Cumene Oxidation Catalyzed by Metal–Nitrogen–Carbon through Theoretical Simulations and Kinetic Validation

open access: yesACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, 2023
M–N–C materials as catalysts are widely used in hydrocarbon oxidation, the intrinsic role of which has not been well illustrated. In this study, M–N–C (M = Fe, Co, Cu, Zn) as model catalysts for cumene oxidation through theoretical calculations and ...

Thermal Decomposition Kinetics of Cumene Hydroperoxide [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Engineering Research and Design, 1998
The thermal decomposition and runaway reaction of cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) in cumene were studied by thermal analysis and by using the VSP-II adiabatic calorimeter. Decomposition kinetics were determined in various CHP concentrations in cumene.
