An Improved Cumulant Based Method for Independent Component Analysis [PDF]
An improved method for independent component analysis based on the diagonalization of cumulant tensors is proposed. It is based on Comon's algorithm [1] but it takes third- and fourth-order cumulant tensors into account simultaneously. The underlying contrast function is also mathematically much simpler and has a more intuitive interpretation.

A remark on the sign change of the four-particle azimuthal cumulant in small systems
The azimuthal cumulants, c2{2} and c2{4}, originating from the global conservation of transverse momentum in the presence of hydro-like elliptic flow are calculated. We observe the sign change of c2{4} for small number of produced particles. This is in a

Quarkonia collectivity in large collision systems with ALICE [PDF]
Quarkonium production is one of the golden probes to study the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). Among many observables, the measurement of azimuthal anisotropies in quarkonium production sheds light on the collective behavior of heavy-flavor particles in a ...

Wide area monitoring systems (WAMS) provide effective support for online identification of low‐frequency oscillations in power systems. The WAMS signal is sensitive to the surrounding environment, and it contains Gaussian white noise.

Underdetermined blind source separation based on third‐order cumulant and tensor compression
A method for Underdetermined Blind Source Separation is proposed using third‐order cumulants and tensor compression. To effectively suppress symmetrical distributed noise, the third‐order cumulant is considered.

High-order cumulant-based weak signal detection method for Drones based on channel state variations.
Aiming at the challenge of detecting low-altitude, slow-moving, and small unmanned aerial vehicles in complex urban environments, this study proposes a passive detection method based on higher-order statistical features of channel impulse responses.

An Efficient Cumulative Edge-Detection Method for Image Reconstruction
When reconstructing images from noisy measurements, such as in medical scans or scientific imaging, we face an inverse problem: recovering an unknown image from indirect, corrupted observations. These problems are typically ill-posed, meaning small amounts of noise can lead to inaccurate reconstructions.

Symmetry-based efficient simulation of higher-order coherences in quantum many-body superradiance
We propose an efficient method to numerically simulate the superradiant emission dynamics of large numbers of quantum emitters in ordered arrays in the presence of long-range dipole-dipole interactions mediated by the vacuum electromagnetic field.
