Analysis of generalized semiparametric regression models for cumulative incidence functions with missing covariates [PDF]
The cumulative incidence function quantifies the probability of failure over time due to a specific cause for competing risks data. The generalized semiparametric regression models for the cumulative incidence functions with missing covariates are investigated.

Methotrexate hepatotoxicity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. [PDF]
BACKGROUND Increases in aminotransferases (transaminitis) are potential major adverse reactions seen with long-term use of methotrexate (MTX). The aim of this study, therefore was to evaluate the incidence of MTX induced hepatotoxicity and its risk ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

A Dynamic Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment for Norovirus in Potable Reuse System [PDF]
This study describes the results of a dynamic quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) for norovirus (NoV) that was used to evaluate the relative significance of foodborne, person-to-person, and person-to-sewage-to-person transmission pathways. This

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Survival Probability in Patients with Sickle Cell Anemia Using the Competitive Risk Statistical Model. [PDF]
The clinical picture of patients with sickle cell anemia (SCA) is associated with several complications some of which could be fatal. The objective of this study is to analyze the causes of death and the effect of sex and age on survival of Brazilian ...

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Comparisons Between the Kaplan-Meier Complement and the Cumulative Incidence for Survival Prediction in the Presence of Competing Events [PDF]
Estimating cumulative event probabilities in time-to-event data can be complicated by competing events. Competing events occur when individuals can experience events other than the primary event of interest.
