Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Comparison of pregnancy outcomes between GnRH antagonist protocol with freeze-all strategy and long-acting GnRH agonist protocol in women with adenomyosis undergoing IVF/ICSI: a propensity-score matching analysis

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2022
Background Plenty of studies explored the most optimal treatment protocol for infertile women with adenomyosis in in-vitro fertilization (IVF) /intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), however, there is still no consensus on which treatment protocol is ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Association between female waist-hip ratio and live birth in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundMaternal obesity is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. It negatively affects IVF/ICSI outcomes and offspring health. However, it is unclear whether waist-hip ratio (WHR) has an impact on outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) or ...

Anti-Müllerian hormone is correlated with cumulative live birth in minimal ovarian stimulation with clomiphene citrate: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2020
Background Several studies have investigated the correlation between the serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes in controlled ovarian stimulation cycles; however, studies regarding the correlation of the serum ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Estradiol on Trigger Day was Irrelevant to Live Birth Rates of Fresh Cycles but Positively Associated with Cumulative Live Birth Rates: A Multicenter Retrospective Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract Background: Serum estradiol (E2) level is supraphysiological during controlled ovarian stimulation (COS). However, the impacts of high levels of E2 on the development of preimplantation embryos, live birth rates in fresh and frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles, and cumulative live birth rates (CLBR) remain debatable. Methods ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Cumulative pregnancy and live birth rates in women with antiphospholipid antibodies undergoing assisted reproduction [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 1999
The aims of this study were to investigate the influence of antiphospholipid antibodies (APA) on cumulative pregnancy and live-birth rates in patients undergoing assisted reproductive treatment. Serum samples from 173 patients were collected prior to initiation treatment cycle and tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the presence of ...
