An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Path Choice of Emergency Logistics Based on Cumulative Prospect Theory

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2019
We study the problem of path choice for emergency logistics in this paper. Based on the uncertainty environment during the path choice from emergency logistics network and the bounded rationality of decision makers, cumulative prospect theory is ...

New tests of cumulative prospect theory and the priority heuristic: Probability-outcome tradeoff with branch splitting

open access: yesJudgment and Decision Making, 2008
Previous tests of cumulative prospect theory (CPT) and of the priority heuristic (PH) found evidence contradicting these two models of risky decision making.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

An experimental study on cumulative prospect theory learning model of travelers’ dynamic mode choice under uncertainty

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, 2017
In this paper, we examined travelers’ dynamic mode choice behavior under travel time variability. We found travelers’ inconsistent risk attitudes through a binary mode choice experiment.

Cumulative Prospect Theory for Parametric and Multiattribute Utilities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Operations Research, 2001
Different attitudes towards gains and losses are a prominent feature of cumulative prospect theory for decision under uncertainty. In particular, decision weights for uncertain events can depend on whether the events involve gains or losses, and the shape of the utility function can reveal loss aversion.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Cumulative Prospect Theory-Driven Pigeon-Inspired Optimization for UAV Swarm Dynamic Decision-Making

open access: yesDrones
To address the dynamic decision-making and control problem in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms, this paper proposes a cumulative prospect theory-driven pigeon-inspired optimization (CPT-PIO) algorithm. Gray relational analysis and information entropy
