Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Cumulative Risk Assessment Conceptual Model

2010 8th International Pipeline Conference, Volume 4, 2010
The energy transportation network of the United States consists of over 2.5 million miles of pipelines operated by approximately 3,000 companies. Based on data generated from annual reports to PHMSA from pipeline operators, the network includes approximately: • 173,000 miles of hazardous liquid pipeline; • 324,000 miles of gas transmission and ...

Cumulative risk assessment of pesticide residues in food

Toxicology Letters, 2008
There is increasing need to address the potential risks of combined exposures to multiple residues from pesticides in the diet. The available evidence suggests that the main concern is from dose addition of those compounds that act by the same mode of action.

Strategies for Assessing Cumulative Ecological Risks

Human and Ecological Risk Assessment: An International Journal, 2001
Assessing and managing the ecological risks from multiple stressors is becoming increasingly important as our environmental and regulatory focus moves from managing point sources to one of managing and trading risks from multiples sources over large geographic areas. There are important corollaries to this shift in focus and scale, one is the increased
