Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Effects of the Representation of Convection on the Modelling of Hurricane Tomas (2010)

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2017
The cumulus parameterization is widely recognised as a crucial factor in tropical meteorology: this paper intends to shed further light on the effects of convection parameterization on tropical cyclones’ numerical predictions in the “grey zone” (10–1 km ...

Sensitivity of a Mediterranean Tropical-Like Cyclone to Physical Parameterizations

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2018
The accurate prediction of Mediterranean tropical-like cyclones, or medicanes, is an important challenge for numerical weather prediction models due to their significant adverse impact on the environment, life, and property.

Study of NWP parameterizations on extreme precipitation events over Basque Country [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Science and Research, 2016
The Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF), like other numerical models, can make use of several parameterization schemes. The purpose of this study is to determine how available cumulus parameterization (CP) and microphysics (MP) schemes in the ...

Temperature‐Driven Emission Redistribution of Yb2+ in SrB4O7 Enables Highly Sensitive Optical Thermometry Supported by Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel optical thermometer exploits the rare UV emission of Yb2+ ions in a SrB4O7 host, enabling highly sensitive, non‐contact temperature measurements from 80 to 420 K. The applied multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis results in a multiple increase in the resulting temperature sensitivity.

Turbulence effects on warm-rain formation in precipitating shallow convection revisited [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2016
Two different collection kernels which include turbulence effects on the collision rate of liquid droplets are used as a basis to develop a parameterization of the warm-rain processes autoconversion, accretion, and self-collection.

Diffusion‐Based Generative Model With Scaffold‐Hopping Strategy Yields Highly Potent Bioactive Molecules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SMarT‐Diff introduces a multi‐objective generative paradigm that integrates scaffold hopping with structure‐aware scoring to enable controlled exploration beyond the training distribution. The framework consistently balances drug‐likeness, synthesizes accessibility and bioactivity, yielding chemically diverse candidates with enhanced properties.

A Machine‐Learning‐Assisted Stochastic Cloud Population Model as a Parameterization of Cumulus Convection

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, 2022
A machine‐learning‐assisted stochastic cloud population model is coupled with the Advanced Research Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model to represent fluctuations in the cloud‐base mass flux associated with the life cycles and interactions among ...

Pharmacological Inhibition of FKBP51 Mitigates Early Life Adversity‐Induced Social Deficits in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early life adversity triggers persistent social subordination and brain‐wide molecular dysregulation. Pharmacological inhibition of the stress‐mediator FKBP51 during the adversity period prevents these long‐term deficits and restores normative social hierarchy.

Evaluation of WRF cumulus parameterization schemes for precipitation simulation in Talesh watershed, Iran

open access: yesDiscover Geoscience
Extreme precipitation events frequently trigger destructive floods in mountainous regions with complex topography, where accurate rainfall prediction remains challenging. The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is widely used for high-resolution
