Mechanisms of Degradation in Li‐Ion Batteries Under Low Temperature Exposures
Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.Low‐temperature exposures, or freeze‐thaw cycles, are observed to significantly accelerate the degradation of Li‐ion batteries. A combination of electrolyte phase separation and mechanochemical stress leads to reversible and irreversible performance losses.
