Bicluster Analysis of Currency Exchange Rates

In many business applications, it is important to analyze correlations between currency exchange rates. In this Chapter, we develop a technique for bicluster analysis of the rates. Our method is able to extract coherent cluster patterns from a subset of time points and a subset of currencies. Experimental results show that our method is very effective.

Currency competition, inflation, Gresham’s Law and exchange rate

Whereas Gresham's law that bad money drives out good2 has found widespread recognition and application in empirical historical research, this is not true for the reverse law quoted above as valid for advanced inflations. As will be shown below, the phenomena described by it are quite general.
