Current-Mode Filters—A Tutorial Review

IETE Journal of Education, 2002
In this tutorial paper, the topic of current-mode signal processing is explored. The various current-mode devices such as OTA (operational Tansconductance amplifier), CC (Current conveyor), Current Feedback operational amplifier (CFOA) and Four Terminal Floating Nullor (FTFN) are introduced.

Low-voltage current-mode filters

Proceedings of the 39th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
A novel analogue continuous-time current-mode filter synthesis technique is proposed based on a transformed set of state-equations that allow the utilization of only current-mode linear lossy-integrators, implemented using standard current mirrors; also a novel current-mode gyrator is introduced.

A CMOS low power current-mode polyphase filter

Proceedings of the 2009 ACM/IEEE international symposium on Low power electronics and design, 2009
A new CMOS polyphase filter based on current followers is presented. Adoptions of such relatively simple building blocks and a filter structure employing minimum number of active elements, have lead to low power solution. The proposed filter is used to construct a 6th-order polyphase fully differential filter suitable for Bluetooth low-IF receiver ...

Tunable current-mode log-domain universal filter

Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010
This paper describes the design of a current-mode universal filter based on log-domain filtering concept. The circuit is a direct realization of a first-order differential equation for obtaining the two integrators loop structure. Lossless integrators are realized by log-domain lossy integrators.

Adaptive Bandwidth PLL with Compact Current Mode Filter

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
This paper presents a compact self-biased current-mode filter (CMF) PLL architecture, which uses relative ratio of charge-pump currents (I/sub cp2/ / |I/sub cp2/-I/sub cp1/|) to obtain a capacitor multiplier. Compatible with self-biased CMF, a modified charge pump switches structure is proposed to reduce phase offset and current activating time.

New current-mode biquad filter

International Journal of Electronics, 1992
A new current conveyor-(CC-)based active biquadratic filter configuration is proposed. The proposed structure offers the following advantageous features in contrast to the previously known CC-based current mode filters: (i) the realization of all the five generic filter functions (namely, low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, notch and all-pass) from the ...

Current‐mode filters based on current mirror arrays

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2007
AbstractA technique is proposed for obtaining current‐mode filters based on current mirror arrays that operate as unity gain current amplifiers. These amplifiers by properly driving capacitors realize active lossless integrators which are the basic active elements for the derivation of filters according to the leapfrog method. Due to the fact that both

Current-Mode Continuous-Time Filters

1995
A low-voltage high-frequency CMOS fully-balanced filtering technique is presented. The low internal voltage characteristic of current-mode circuits allows the operation at power supply voltages as low as 3-V with high dynamic range. The integrator time-constant is determined by a MOSFET small-signal transconductance and an additional non-critical ...

Current-mode leapfrog ladder filters using CDBAs

2002 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37353), 2003
In this paper, a possible realization of a current differencing buffered amplifier (CDBA) in the low-voltage operation is proposed. A leapfrog simulation of the current-mode ladder network using the CDBAs as active circuit building blocks is then introduced.

Current‐mode biquadratic filter using DO‐CCCDBAs

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2008
AbstractThis paper presents a current‐mode universal biquadratic filter performing three functions; low pass, high pass and band pass, based on dual‐output current‐controlled current differencing buffered amplifiers (DO‐CCCDBAs). The features of the circuit are that the quality factor and pole frequency can be tuned independently via the input bias ...
