Steady state theory of current transfer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Current transfer is defined as a charge transfer process where the transferred charge carries information about its original motion. We have recently suggested that such transfer causes the asymmetry observed in electron transfer induced by circularly ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

INFLUENCE OF THE INORGANIC SOLUTIONS ON THE CURRENT EFFICIENCY FOR IRON DISSOLUTION AT THE ELECTROCHEMICAL MACHINING

open access: yesNonconventional Technologies Review, 2019
At the processing by electrochemical erosion, an important influence has the working solution (electrolyte). This paper presented the results obtained by applying inorganic solutions at the machining by electrochemical erosion.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Coupling efficiency for phase locking of a spin transfer oscillator to a microwave current

open access: yes, 2008
The phase locking behavior of spin transfer nano-oscillators (STNOs) to an external microwave signal is experimentally studied as a function of the STNO intrinsic parameters. We extract the coupling strength from our data using the derived phase dynamics

Efficiency of low power audio amplifiers and loudspeakers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we look at the load presented to audio amplifiers by real transducers. We consider the power losses in Class-AB and Class-D amplifier topologies, and determine that in order to predict efficiency it is necessary to consider the amplifier ...

Evaluating radiation efficiency from characteristic currents

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2015
This study describes an effective technique for calculating modal radiation efficiency calculation based on decomposition into characteristic modes. The key assumption is that the current distribution on the perfect electric conductor is almost the same as in the case of a very good conductor, for example, metals such as copper, aluminium and silver ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

ELECTROREFINING IN AQUEOUS CHLORIDE MEDIA FOR RECOVERING TIN FROM WASTE MATERIALS

open access: yesActa Metallurgica Slovaca, 2013
Recycling of the impure tin generated by the hot dip tinning and wave soldering technologies widely applied in modern electronic industry can be carried in a flexible and economical way even at relatively low production rates by electrorefining. In order

Circuit exhibits power efficiency greater than 75 percent [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Variable duty cycle pulser increases circuit power efficiency by more than 75 percent when operating solenoid valves. The pulser provides a low-level holding current after a high-level current has actuated the solenoid ...
